Thank You Kelly Clarkson (CH)

May 16, 2009  |  blogs  |  No Comments

So we played with Kelly Clarkson. Radical.

It was a giant stadium show, and all told,  it was a fantastic experience.
If you want to see some pretty cool videos from the evening, check out www.youtube.com/ryanhoodvideos

I want to add that Ms. Clarkson was sweet as iced tea. We hung out briefly and she made us feel right at home… put us very much at ease. We gave her a copy of The World Awaits, so here’s hoping that it becomes her new fav.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the contest. And to all who continue to work and hope and vote. We’re heading to the big stage. Come along with us!

Cameron

ps… did I mention that we played with Jay-Z, Third Eye Blind, and the Veronicas too? We did. :)

Homebound Hair (CH)

Hello friends, old and new! I've been quiet for a long time. And you may, along with news correspondents and pundits everywhere be wondering: Why write now? For what critically important reason is Cameron Hood choosing to break his bloggish-silence? Since I'm sure you where losing sleep over it, I will now reveal my answer: I'm writing to congratulate myself. I've done it! I've completed the task set out before me. It's involved a lot of traveling, a lot of shows, a lot of training, a lot of skillful finger-performance. And it's involved a lot of Redken Rough Paste Hair Styler. The earth-shattering subject I'm addressing is not my involvement in Ryanhood's massively successful Spring tour, though it was the stage upon which my heroics were...

Everybody Feels The Wind Blow (CH)

April 16, 2007  |  blogs  |  No Comments

Tucson is a place for flip flops, a place for shorts, and Tshirts. Nobody really brings jackets or scarves to carnivals in Tucson. That's all I'm saying. In Tucson, the town of our birth, there's almost nothing as beautiful and pleasant as a spring night spent out of doors and under the stars. So when the wind began blowing bitterly and coldly last week just as we were setting up for an outdoor show called Spring Fling, most everyone was caught completely unaware. Pretty early on in the show, I checked in with Ryan to see if the seemingly eternal flame in his fingertips had been cooled. Amazingly, even though he could have pierced my septum with the icicles on his knuckles, he was still able to play all of his guitar solos. I was going to suggest to our audience that if they were cold, they could scoot closer together and closer...

On Friday, April 21, Ryanhood, along with The Year of Acceleration, inaugurate Hotel Congress' Outdoor Concert Series at an all-ages show starting at 6 p.m. What was the first concert you ever saw? Hood: Green Day, Mesa Amphitheatre. Someone threw a boot at Mike Dirnt. It hit. It hurt. They were done. What CDs are in your changer right now? Hood: Switchfoot, Nothing Is Sound; Derek Webb, Mockingbird; The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers audio CD; demo mixes from the new Ryanhood CD.
